Do you live in Manhattan? Are you just visiting with your four legged family members? Either way, if you love you dogs you need to know where to take them for some city fun. Here is a list of the best dog parks and dog runs in New York City, Manhattan Edition. Stay tuned to the Hot Dog Blog for more editions, including other boroughs and of course other cities.
Carl Schurz Park Dog Run - East End Avenue to East River from Gracie Square (East 84th Street) to 89th Street
Randalls Island Park Off-Leash Area - Ok, technically it's not on Manhattan, but it's very close and except for a few areas, the entire park is off leash!
Central Park Off-Leash Area - 23 different dog friendly spots throughout the park. Note the link opens as a PDF
Inwood Hill Park Dog Run: Homer's Run - This cool spot even has a pool!
Madison Square Park Dog Run - 24th Street, at the western side of the park. On eof the top dog runs in all of NYC!
Riverside Park - 3 different dog runs open from 9a to 9p. Note the link opens as a PDF
Tompkins Square Park - Handicapped accessible and in the middle of the East Village
Fort Washington Park - 165th Street and Riverside Drive
De Witt Clinton Park - Known for it's dog run! Check out the foliage in the Autumn season
105th Street Dog Run - Publicly owned but privately maintained, this park is friendly for both fido and family
