This dog collar utilizes a slip closure, also called a choker style collar. Sizing is given as a single neck length. Measure your dogs neck size or its current collar length (not including buckles) to obtain correct sizing, and then select a size approx 1-2 inches larger

IMHO, the best type of collar for general use. This one is made well & good quality, but sizing is unreliable. 14" is too small, 16" is too big - more like 18". But if you can get the right size, it's the one to have.

I am a certified dog trainer, and I am always recommending these soft, gentle, nylon slip collars to clients. I usually start my dogs in a head collar of some sort (Halti,Gentle Leader) and when they have learned to how to walk on loose leash (sometimes that takes 2 years) I switch over to these. They offer safety and security, because your dog cannot slip out, and they allow you gently correct if needed. I keep them attached to my dog's leash so we are we never without it. Cute colors too.

This collar is exactly what we were looking for- tough, but soft on our dog's neck. We paid extra for the sipping to be expedited, and somehow it didn't get sent- so we called and they shipped it out immediately- and, as a surprise to us, even credited our shipping charges! We didn't even have to ask- Hot Dog Collars did it automatically! We cannot rave enough about the quality of this product and the fantastic customer service! We have a 44 pound dog, so ordered the 16" collar- if your dog is bigger than, say, a Beagle, you would need to order the next size up. I like this better than the nylon training collar- it is more gentle on the dog, doesn't "wear down" if it gets wet in water, and is overall a great choice! Thank you, Hot Dog Collars!!!

I have used these collars on my dogs (Gordon Setters and English Pointers) for years....they last..they do not mark the coat and are also a great training collar.

My vet suggested a rolled collar for my dog because his old collar was sliding down on his neck and would get too tight. I love this collar and it looks good on him.

Ordered wrong size, so returned and reordered the correct size. Fits great and no problem with furry friend slipping out of collar due to large neck and small head.
Have not received my credit on card yet, so in essence I have paid twice for the products, until the credit comes thru. Has been 3 weeks for this to be processed. So hope it is the banks slow processing. I will recommend this to friends once my credit comes thru, as we are always looking for the best products, and so far these are the best.

Carefully read directions for return/exchange. Sent collar back with tracking # and asked for larger size (18"). Tracking says they received collar on 1/26; still have not received new collar as of 2/10. Not happy.
