How do I return an item?

If there is a mistake in your order, no need to read further, simply contact us so we can make it right!

EXCHANGES - The EASY way or the HARD way

EASY - Fast/No Fees
  1. Place a new order for the item you want
  2. Make note of the NEW order #
  3. Repackage your original item - DO NOT send back products covered in hair, stains, dirt, or other debris.  We maintain a clean, allergy free environment.  Failure to follow this policy will result in your package being discarded and you will NOT receive your credit
  4. Write down and include your NEW order # in the return package
  5. Ship it to the following address

  6. We will issue a full credit* to your card or paypal account - please note coupons, gift certificates, and other discounts may not be used to place exchange orders
HARD - Slow/With Fees
  1. Print out your original invoice/packing slip and write down the following:
  2. TELL US WHAT YOU WANT TO EXCHANGE FOR (i.e. size 22, red color, etc...)
  3. Include your order number, name and address (a copy of the invoice works nicely as per above) so we can reference your order
  4. DO NOT send back products covered in hair, stains, dirt, or other debris.  We maintain a clean, allergy free environment.  Failure to follow this policy will result in your package being discarded and you will NOTreceive your credit
  5. Ship it to the following address

  6. We recommend that you insure the package so if it is damaged during the trip back, you aren't liable
  7. Fees
    • NOTE - V.I.P. CUSTOMERS DO NOT NEED TO INCLUDE THE EXCHANGE FEE.  V.I.P customers consist of wholesale accounts and those who have placed MORE THAN 1 ORDER WITH US in the past 12 months
    • All other customers need to include a fee of $2.95 for all exchanges
    • Certain items are priced by size and therefore may induce a higher cost if exchanged for a larger size.  CHECK THE WEBSITE to see if this applies to your exchange.  If it does, you MUST include payment of the extra cost
    • FEES MAY BE PAID via Personal check (MADE OUT TO HotDogCollars.com) or PayPal (to orders@hotdogcollars.com)
    • Your exchange WILL NOT be processed until the payment is received to account for the difference in cost. 
    • WE CANNOT CHARGE TO THE CARD ON FILE AS WE DO NOT STORE YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS
    • Hot Dog Collars assumes no responsibility for notifying each customer of the need for payment
  8. IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE THE US, please include payment of $5.95 for return shipping
  9. Please allow 2-4 weeks to process your exchange

RETURNS



Due to a number of individuals taking advantage of our previous system, we are able to offer returns via cash credit with a restock fee OR for a store credit without a restocking fee.  ALL return requests for credit to a credit card or paypal account WILL  incur a restock fee equal to the greater of 30% or $5 per item

Include your order number, name and address (a copy of the invoice works nicely) so we can reference your order, AND BE SURE TO PUT THE WORDS "Return For Store Credit" somewhere inside the package. We recommend that you insure your return so if it is damaged during the trip back, you aren't liable. Please allow 4-6 weeks to process your return.

IMPORTANT RETURN NOTE:  If you have a damaged toy that carries a manufacturers guarantee, DO NOT send the toy to us.  Please follow the instructions on the tag that came with the toy (also detailed on the product page on our website).  Damaged toys that we receive are immediately disposed of for sanitary reasons.    We cannot offer return shipping and CANNOT provide the replacement toy.  These must be handled through the manufacturer


NOTES, DISCLAIMERS, and ALL THAT LAWYER STUFF:

All products are GUARANTEED for a total of 180 days after purchase. If you believe you have received a defective item, please contact us immediately.  HOWEVER, we may ask for an image of, or the actual, item that has been damaged.  If we determine that the damage was the result of a tie-out using a plastic clasp collar or due to other mis-use, we reserve the right to refuse an exchange or refund.


If your item shows visible signs of wear and tear, we will not be able to accept a return or exchange.  These signs include, but are not limited to, stretched fabric, color fade, wear marks from buckle collars, stretched holes on buckle collars, scratched charms, buckles, and studs, missing pieces, HAIR ON THE ITEM, and stains of any kind

Since there are no returns/exchanges after 21 days from delivery, please examine all products upon receipt. We do not refund outgoing shipping.

Clearance, Personalized, and certain Seasonal items are NOT available for return or exchange.
