Chicago is the largest city in Illinois and the Midwest. It is considered to be on of the top 10 financial cities in the world. In 1885 the first steel frame high rise was constructed in Chicago ushering in the era of the skyscraper and today Chicago?s skyline continues to be one of the tallest and densest. Chicago?s theatre community brought the improvisation movement to life with Second City and Improv comedy troupes leading the pack. Founded in 1926 the Chicago Blackhawks are one of the NHL?s Original Six teams. The team got its name from their original owner Frederic McLaughlin. McLaughlin was a commander of the 86th Infantry Division during WW1 called Blackhawk Division after Chief Black Hawk a prominent figure in the history of Illinois. Many people assume the team was named for the chief but really they were named for the military division that took their name from the chief. The Hawks won the Stanley Cup in 2010 their first win since 1961. Notable Blackhawks include Bobby Hull Stan Mikita Chris Chelios and Marion Hossa.
