NFL Football - San Diego Chargers
San Diego is the biggest city between Los Angeles and the Mexican border. As such, it boasts 2 major professional sports teams, an international airport, an international port, and a major business and financial district. It was rated the 5th best place to live in the U.S. by Money magazine in 2006. San Diego boasts world-class attractions, including the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and the USS Midway aircraft carrier and museum. Downtown, there is a cute section of town called the Gaslight District downtown featuring restaurants, shops and businesses. San Diego is a fun, vibrant city filled with excellent nightlife and family fun.
San Diego also boasts two major sports teams, MLB's Padres and NFL's San Diego Chargers. The Chargers were one of the American Football Leagues original 8 teams. Although they spent their first year in Los Angeles, they have been in San Diego since 1961. The Chargers went to the Super Bowl in 1994 and have six players and one coach in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. The Chargers are the only professional football team in Southern California and are hugely popular. The Chargers play at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
