Do you live in Houston? Are you just visiting with your four legged family members? Either way, if you love you dogs you need to know where to take them for some city fun. Here is a list of the best dog parks and dog runs in the Houston area. Stay tuned to the Hot Dog Blog for more editions, including other boroughs and of course other cities.



The Johnny Steele Dog Park - This $1.5 million, 2 acre park is one of the largest in the city. Check out the yelp review in the link for more details



Maxey Park - 12+ acres of parkland including a special fenced area just for dogs. Featuring separate areas for large and small dogs, drinking fountains, wash areas, and more.



T C Jester Park - A bit smaller with 1 acre of enclosed area including separate spots for small and large pups. But always one of the more popular spots!



Millie Bush Dog Park - Large park with lots of amenities. Definitely check this one out!



Danny Jackson Bark Park - Not the fanciest, but probably one of the most fun. Featuring a nice long run area and a natural pool/pond



Market Square Park Dog Run - Location, location, location! This is actually 2 dog runs, each with water features, benches, and more



Discovery Green Dog Runs - Part of a muc larger park system with tons to do for the whole family, this dog run features everything you expect to find including separate areas for small and large dogs



Congressman Bill Archer Bark Park - Lots of features but what sets this park apart is the dog agility course



Tranquility Park - If you want the calm and safety of a leashed only park, then this is the one. Great location too in the downtown area



Memorial Park - Combines a leash only dog parkj with plenty of other amenities and activities for the whole family!
